    This position will serve as an Academic Coach within Durango's Advancement & Support Hub (DASH), supporting students across multiple scholarship cohorts. The position will foster belonging and student success through individualized academic, career, social, and emotional support; connections to campus and community resources; and guidance in developing skills and strategies for persistence and degree completion. The Academic Coach will collaborate with campus partners to provide holistic, wrap-around support and use student data to proactively identify needs and connect students with timely resources, with the goal of increasing retention and graduation.

    Job Duties

    Responsibility Area: Academic Coaching Duties:

    Provide proactive, ongoing academic and career coaching through individualized and group meetings, digital outreach, and other targeted interventions. Develop individualized success plans and maintain regular communication with students to monitor progress, address barriers, and connect them with appropriate resources and support. Collaborate with advisors, faculty, and peer mentors to coordinate outreach and support for students who may benefit from additional assistance. Maintain accurate records of student interactions and services to support program assessment, research, and continuous improvement.

    Percentage Of Time 50 Essential Function: Yes Responsibility Area: Providing Support Duties:

    Conduct academic success check-ins with students on probation or at risk of not meeting university academic requirements, providing individualized support and connections to resources. Assist in developing and facilitating academic success workshops, team-building activities, and student onboarding experiences. Support outreach and presentations for current and prospective students. Promote career exploration and readiness through career fairs, résumé reviews, and other career-development activities. Assist with the planning and facilitation of annual Peer Mentor training.

    Percentage Of Time 25 Essential Function: Yes Responsibility Area: Documentation and Assessment Support Duties:

    Collect, analyze, and interpret student and program data to support program assessment, evaluation, and continuous improvement. Document student interactions and support through accurate and timely case notes. Identify trends and emerging student needs to inform targeted outreach, resources, workshops, and other student success initiatives. Utilize the campus information systems to provide students with timely information and resources. Collaborate across the office and contribute to projects and initiatives as needed to advance the mission and goals of Durango's Advancement & Support Hub.

    Collaborate with campus and community partners by developing and maintaining relationships and connecting students with appropriate services. Participate in other duties as assigned.

    Preferred Experience

    Experience working in an educational setting. Previous experience in higher education with preference given to tutoring, learning center, or academic advising experience with at-promise student populations. Possess knowledge of current and emerging trends related to college student success; knowledge of learning strategies, academic success skills, motivational techniques, and basic counseling principles; excellent interpersonal communication skills; strong collaboration skills; and the ability to synthesize and take action on complex information.
