- -Delivers high-quality academic support to students accessing our Return Support Services (RSS) through collaboration with educators. More specifically, identifying and remediating missed work and skills, streamlining content, and managing the overall expectations of content classes during the students' time accessing services.
- -Implements restorative strategies and applies emotional regulation and behavioral de-escalation techniques when supporting students through multiple tiered systems of support.
- -Promotes a safe, inclusive, and trauma-informed culture that affirms student abilities and supports social-emotional health.
- -Provides direct communication with families and outside providers for guidance, updates, and resources to ensure a collaborative approach to student success. Additionally, there is an expectation that the position engages in academic planning with students, tutors, and teachers, acting as a liaison between educators and students to facilitate the completion of their work.
- -Participates in re-entry meetings with students to develop thoughtful, individualized plans to successfully transition students back from lengthy absences. Additionally, collaborative planning sessions with the school adjustment counselor are ongoing to further support this work and enhance students'' transition experiences.
- -Completes professional development through the BRYT (Bridge for Resilient Youth in Transition) program and participates in ongoing collaboration with the BRYT team both within the district and across the state to better equip the Academic Coordinator with the skills that they apply daily.
- -Collects and analyzes data to inform instructional decisions and track student progress. This data-driven approach is crucial in ensuring that the interventions are effective and responsive to student needs.
