Job Summary
Serves as an academic dean responsible for student-centered leadership for the District; provides supervision, guidance and direction for programming, courses, services, faculty and staff in assigned cluster of departments and activities; directs, develops, implements and evaluates academic and related programs; supervises the areas of Nursing, Allied Health programs, Emergency Medicine (EMT); Paramedic and Fire Science programs, works with each Division Chair/Director to problem solve issues that arise on a daily basis; oversees the payment of faculty and adjuncts; professionally develops staff and Chairs/Directors to manage their areas and supervise their faculty; provides leadership for the development and assessment of new curriculum and programs to meet the needs of students and industry; identifies programs that have few students and works with the Director/Chair to recruit students or determines if the program should be closed; actively participates, develops and/or leads the development of partnerships and community involvement activities; works with the Academic VP to provide assistance where needed; serves all students as a TRUE Learning Community by promoting student success through student learning, student development, and student retention; and serves as a member of the President's Cabinetwhich works as the administrative body on initiatives at the College.

Qualifications
EDUCATION: Master's degree.
EXPERIENCE: Five (5) years of progressively responsible applicable experience in a higher education setting. Previous experience overseeing healthcare programs in higher education preferred.
SPECIAL POSITION CONDITIONS: Travel within the required county.

Employment with Central Arizona College is contingent upon the successful completion of the background verification. The level the background verification for this position is: Executive level.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The work is sedentary work. The employee is occasionally required to exert up to 10 pounds of force to move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required:hearing anddistinguishing among sounds, mental acuity, speaking, talking, and visual acuity in data. Duties performed may cause light fatigue of eyes, fingers, or other faculties due to long periods of viewing a monitor.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
Critical/High Profile Level - Position interacts with some or all of the following: Governing Board, community groups, high level/high profile positions outside CAC, the legal community, political representatives, and international figures requiring the highest level of interpersonal skills for successful job performance.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in a dynamic environment that requires sensitivity to change and responsiveness to changing goals, priorities, and needs. Job is performed in general office or comparable working area with occasional distractions such as noise and interruptions or in congested work areas with exposure to some disagreeable elements.
