    Position Summary

    This position is posted in compliance with Alabama Code §16-22-15. It is the intent to place a current employee in this position.

    The Academic Dual Enrollment Liaison is a supplemental faculty leadership position reporting to the Dean of Academic Programs and Services. The Liaison assists with planning, coordinating, and supporting academic dual enrollment offerings across the College's service area and serves as the primary point of contact among academic division chairs, high school partners, and College offices involved in dual enrollment. The Liaison will also facilitate communication and coordination among high schools, academic departments, division chairs, Student Services, Admissions, Records, Advising, Testing, and other relevant offices to promote efficient, consistent, and student-centered dual enrollment processes.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Teaching Responsibilities:

    • Teaches courses as assigned.
    • Continues to fulfill faculty responsibilities consistent with college policies, ACCS policies, and assigned instructional duties.
    • Maintains appropriate faculty credentials and remains current in the teaching discipline.
    • Serves students through instruction, advising, communication, and support as appropriate to the faculty role.

    Academic Dual Enrollment Liaison Responsibilities:

    • Serves as the primary academic point of contact for planning academic dual enrollment course offerings.
    • Assists the Dean of Academic Programs and Services in coordinating academic dual enrollment activities with division chairs, high school partners, and student services offices.
    • Serves as the liaison between academic divisions and high schools during the planning, scheduling, and implementation of academic dual enrollment courses.
    • Coordinates with division chairs to identify appropriate academic dual enrollment courses, delivery formats, locations, instructional needs, and faculty assignments.
    • Works with high school counselors, administrators, and other school personnel to gather academic dual enrollment course requests and communicate College procedures, timelines, and requirements.
    • Coordinates with Admissions, Records, Advising, Testing, Financial Aid, the Business Office, and other relevant student services areas to support efficient dual enrollment processes.
    • Assists with the development and maintenance of academic dual enrollment timelines, planning calendars, communication templates, and internal workflow documents.
    • Supports coordination of student admission, registration, placement, course selection, schedule confirmation, and related academic dual enrollment processes.
    • Communicates with appropriate College offices and high school partners regarding schedule changes, course cancellations, registration needs, withdrawals, attendance verification, grade reporting, and related academic matters.
    • Works with division chairs and the Dean to help ensure that academic dual enrollment courses maintain appropriate academic quality, rigor, and consistency with on-campus and online College courses.
    • Assists in confirming that instructors assigned to academic dual enrollment courses meet applicable credentialing requirements in coordination with division chairs, Academic Affairs, and Human Resources as appropriate.
    • Supports orientation and communication for faculty teaching academic dual enrollment courses, including expectations related to syllabi, instructional quality, attendance verification, grading, Canvas usage, student support, and College policies.
    • Assists with the review and updating of academic dual enrollment procedures, handbooks, forms, guidance documents, and web-based information.
    • Serves as a resource for high school partners, students, parents, faculty, and staff regarding academic dual enrollment processes.
    • Assists with the planning of dual enrollment information sessions, school visits, counselor meetings, parent nights, recruitment activities, and other outreach efforts related to academic dual enrollment.
    • Coordinates with Marketing and Recruitment as needed to support accurate and consistent communication about academic dual enrollment opportunities.
    • Helps identify opportunities to expand, improve, or streamline academic dual enrollment offerings in alignment with student needs, high school partner needs, and College priorities.
    • Maintains records related to academic dual enrollment planning, communication, course requests, partner needs, and process improvements.
    • Prepares reports, summaries, and recommendations related to academic dual enrollment activity, enrollment trends, partner requests, scheduling needs, and operational challenges.
    • Supports the Dean in resolving academic dual enrollment issues that involve multiple departments, high school partners, or student services processes.
    • Maintains awareness of current dual enrollment regulations, policies, procedures, accreditation expectations, and best practices.
    • Ensures that academic dual enrollment coordination is consistent with College, ACCS, SACSCOC, FERPA, and applicable state and federal requirements.
    • Performs additional duties assigned by the Dean of Academic Programs and Services that are relevant to academic dual enrollment coordination.

    Leadership Responsibilities:

    • Represents Academic Programs and Services in meetings related to academic dual enrollment as assigned by the Dean.
    • Facilitates communication among academic division chairs regarding academic dual enrollment planning, scheduling, and implementation.
    • Participates in meetings with high school partners, counselors, administrators, and College personnel to support effective dual enrollment coordination.
    • Assists in the development of short-term and long-term strategies for improving academic dual enrollment services, communication, and student success.
    • Helps establish consistent academic dual enrollment procedures across academic divisions.
    • Promotes collaboration, consistency, and accountability in academic dual enrollment processes.
    • Participates in local, regional, state, and system-level activities necessary to maintain awareness of current issues affecting dual enrollment and higher education.
    • Participates in College committees, workgroups, and planning activities related to dual enrollment as assigned.
    • Maintains professionalism and confidentiality in all communications and decision-making processes.

    Qualifications

    • Current status as a full-time instructor within the Division of Academic Programs & Services.
    • Masters degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in an academic teaching field from an approved U.S. Department of Education accredited institution required.
    • Postsecondary faculty credentials according to Board and SACS policies for teaching a course within academics.

    SALARY: As per the ACCS Salary Schedule D1, a department or division chairperson shall be paid an additional $400 per month provided that the department or division includes a minimum of three full-time faculty members, with chairperson being counted as one of the three (see Policy 606.05).

    The faculty member will also receive release for two courses (6 credit hours) each term (Fall, Spring, and Summer) for an annual maximum release for 6 courses (12 credit hours maximum annually).

    Salary Calculation: For all positions on all Salary Schedules, the salary amount for the selected applicant is determined by step placement on the applicable schedule. Step placement is dependent upon the following: (a) all full-time work experience in public education in Alabama and (b) all other full-time work experience outside of public education in Alabama that, in the sole judgment of the College, directly relates to the requirements of the position. The applicant selected for the position must provide written verification(s) of this full-time work experience within the time provided herein if such experience is to be considered in determining their initial step place on the Salary Schedule.

    Format for Work Experience Verifications: Work experience verifications should be in the form of verification letters from employers and must include complete employment dates, job title(s), job duties, and an indication whether such employment was full-time or part-time, and if part-time, the average number of hours worked each week. The letters should be on official letterhead and contain an authorized personnel signature. The College's official employment verification form is also acceptable and is available upon request. If an employment verification cannot be obtained due to a legitimate reason, for purposes of meeting minimum requirements an applicant may submit copies of other trustworthy documentation such as appointment letters, contracts, pay stubs, or W-2 forms documenting the term of employment.
