The Academic Personnel Analyst 3 manages academic personnel activities for the Department of Medicine, VA division. Serving as a subject matter expert, the incumbent provides guidance on academic personnel policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with UC, UCLA, DGSOM, and departmental requirements while supporting faculty, leadership, and staff on a wide range of personnel matters.

Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or equivalent combination of education and experience
4-6 years of subject matter expertise
Thorough knowledge of UC-wide Academic Personnel Policies (APM) and bargaining union contracts, and the procedures and practices that govern academic personnel administration.
Thorough knowledge of local, i.e. DGSOM and/or department, voting and compensation plan bylaws, and the procedures and practices that govern academic personnel administration.
Thorough knowledge of Compensation Plan bylaws including Outside Professional Activities and the procedures and practices that govern these.
Adept in handling sensitive information and / or situations and maintaining strict confidentiality.
Adept in meeting deadlines despite frequent interruptions.
Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively relay and obtain information, explain policies and procedures, and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with diverse audiences, including faculty, staff, and students.
Thorough knowledge of benefits and retirement programs, preferably in a university environment;
Ability to support VA Faculty/Staff by accessing documents on VA's servers via additional appointment. - "VA Without Compensation (WOC)".
As a condition of employment, the final candidate who accepts an offer of employment will be required to disclose if they have been subject to any final administrative or judicial decisions within the last seven years determining that they committed any misconduct; or have filed an appeal of a finding of substantiated misconduct with a previous employer.
