Overview:
The Academic Intervention Services Teacher is responsible for working directly with elementary school students to provide supplemental support in achieving measurable improvements in reading and mathematics.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
Valid NYS teacher certification (1-6) required
At least 6 years of teaching experience
At least three years of demonstrated student growth and achievement data, supported by i-Ready reports.
Evidence of successful intervention practices and measurable academic outcomes.
Mastery of assigned subject; knowledge of current practices
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide push-in and pull out intervention support for individual students, small groups and entire classes in Math, English, Social Studies and Science
Advise teachers on modifying/accommodating curriculum for students and share best practices to ensure high quality instruction
Help plan and implement building level staff development and observe instructional consistency to support core reading and math skills across the curriculum
Use data from screening, diagnostic, interim, formative and summative assessments to track and report student progress toward goals set in learning plans
Create and maintain logs of daily student attendance, student progress, lesson plans and parent contact
Communicate students' progress and interventions with faculty, students and families
Actively participate in grade-level meetings, collaborative planning, and professional development
Serve as a member of the school RTI team
Demonstrate the ability to use electronic equipment for word processing, data management, digital technology and augment authentic learning, information retrieval, visual and audio presentations, and telecommunications
Additional duties as assigned by the Principal or his designee
Compensation
A competitive compensation package including base salary and complete benefits is available. The Charter of School of Educational Excellence is a member of and contributes to the New York State Teacher Retirement System (NYSTRS).

Candidates whose qualifications and experience reflect a strong record of success will be invited to participate in an in-person interview. Candidates who advance beyond the 1st interview will be asked to do a demo lesson presentation in a classroom setting with students present and observed by members of the school's administrative team.
