The University of Oklahoma Medical Center is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Academic Nocturnist to join our expanding Hospital Medicine Division. This is a full-time faculty role at a major academic medical center, offering the opportunity to deliver high-quality inpatient care during overnight hours while contributing to resident education, quality initiatives, and scholarly work.
Provide overnight inpatient coverage, including admissions and cross-coverage for general medicine and subspecialty services.
Supervise and mentor Internal Medicine residents and APPs during night shifts.
Participate in rapid response and code blue events in collaboration with ICU and ED teams.
Engage in departmental quality improvement initiatives and attend faculty meetings as required.
Model: 7-on / 7-off
Hours: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Team: Nocturnist physicians, APPs, and Internal Medicine residents
Average Admissions: 6-8 per night
Cross-Coverage: Approximately 75-100 patients across units
505-bed tertiary care academic hospital
Closed ICU model at OUMC
Procedures optional with support available
Faculty appointment with academic rank based on experience
Salary: Competitive starting salary ($340K+), plus production and quality incentives; sign-on and retention bonuses available
