The opportunity
The Academic Operations and Cross-Functional Support Manager is a matrixed position within the Campus Academic Operations team that serves as a key operational leader supporting both the School of Business and Graduate Education Programs (GEP). This position works closely with School of Business and GEP leadership to support scheduling planning, troubleshoot operational challenges, and ensure the smooth execution of academic operations. The Manager is responsible for coordinating critical operational functions within these units while ensuring alignment with institutional priorities, academic goals, and operational timelines.
For GEP, the role provides leadership for partnership and degree program operations, including partnerships creation and onboarding, operational support, scheduling coordination, student support processes, and cross-functional initiatives. Acting as a primary liaison across operational and administrative departments, the Manager facilitates communication, resolves complex operational challenges, and promotes consistency, efficiency, and continuous improvement across programs and services.
This position oversees the GEP student support staff and is responsible for fostering a high-quality operational experience for students, faculty, and external partners. Through collaboration, process optimization, and operational leadership, the Manager strengthens organizational effectiveness and supports the successful delivery of academic and partnership-related programs.
For the School of Business, this role supports key academic operations processes, including master schedule development, section management, fill rate review, payroll, and communications to faculty and chairs. Working in partnership with school leadership, the Manager ensures adherence to deadlines, provides operational guidance and support, and helps coordinate priorities to support effective academic delivery.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications:
Years of experience: 3 years or more of experience in operations, program management, academic administration, or a related field; experience in higher education preferred
Degree(s): Bachelor's
Equivalent of experience in lieu of degree acceptable: Yes
Specialized knowledge: Working knowledge of academic operations, scheduling, and cross-functional project coordination. Familiarity with Banner and Degree Works preferred.
Skills:
Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
Supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
Abilities:
Effectively manage multiple projects and overlapping deadlines.
Communicate complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
Build collaborative relationships across departments and with external partners.
Exercise sound judgment and independently resolve operational challenges.

Compensation
The annual pay range for this position is $58,455.00 - $93,546.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations. We expect this position to be hired in the following target hiring range $64,593.00 - $87,391.00.
