Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a academic orthopaedic surgeon specializing in musculoskeletal oncology, you will join our expanding clinic practice in Omaha, NE as part of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at The Creighton University School of Medicine, in partnership with CHI Health and Creighton University Medical Center.

Every day you will collaborate with our integrated Oncology Service Line, committed to highest quality outcomes. In collaboration with Creighton University School of Medicine, the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery will establish a residency program, led by our Department Chair, Dr. Ranjan Gupta, in conjunction with a newly created Orthopaedic Center of excellence at CHI Health.

To be successful in this role you will be board certified or eligible in Orthopaedic Surgery with clinical focus on musculoskeletal oncologic pathology with additional skills in fracture repair, soft tissue management, nerve repair and arthroscopy. In addition, the candidate should have a strong academic interest with a desire to educate and participate in research.

As a busy academic institution, Creighton University Medical Center - CHI Health boasts a number of additional opportunities including the opportunity to conduct research in collaboration with scientists within Common Spirit and Creighton University School of Medicine in its own bio-mechaniclab.

The establishment of an Orthopaedic Musculoskeletal Oncology Division will be an integral part of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery integrating medical students and residents in a rich teaching environment.

Criteria:

  • Board certified or eligible in Orthopaedic Surgery
  • Fellowship trained in Tumor/Sarcoma
  • Works collaboratively in a team
  • Enjoy working in an academic research and teaching environment

Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution

  • Board certification or eligibility in Orthopaedic Surgery

  • Active or eligible license in the state of Nebraska

  • Strong clinical skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with children, families, and health-careprofessionals

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment

  • Commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care to children, adults and families
