Work You'll Do

The Project Integration Engineer III supports two lines of effort (LOE) through administrative and program coordination assistance. This role maintains multiple research project timelines while supporting internal and external documentation and collaboration with students, faculty, and partner organizations. A second area of focus is the production of handbooks providing provide operationally relevant overviews of national disaster management capabilities and vulnerabilities, contributing to a broader disaster management knowledge base and supporting improved response coordination through best practices and lessons learned.

This is an on-site position located on Ford Island, Oahu, Hawaii, with a standard Monday-Friday schedule (8 hours/day, 40 hours/week). This is not a teleworking position. Travel is required (CONUS and OCONUS) up to 10%, supporting research symposiums, workshops, trainings, exercises, and other whole-of-Center activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Academic Partnership Program Coordination & Administration

  • Serve as the primary onboarding liaison for interns and students, coordinating with various staff to ensure students are fully integrated and resourced upon arrival.
  • Conduct professional communications with academic partners, students/interns, international organizations, and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinate meetings with partners, students/interns, international organizations, and stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance to students on program requirements and respond to inquiries and concerns.
  • Establish, manage, and maintain collaborations with program partners.
  • Maintain student files and records.
  • Analyze data and generate, support, and disseminate periodic (semester) reports.
  • Coordinate marketing and outreach as needed (e.g., website updates, brochure development, outreach to other institutions).
  • Coordinate, plan, and attend academic conferences.
  • Develop dissemination plans for academic products to key stakeholders.
  • Manage the intake of academic inquiries and applications through the website, evaluate requests, and ensure timely communication.
  • Curate a list of strategic research topics to provide project options for incoming students.
  • Develop templates, spreadsheets, and collaborative/data management and information-sharing plans to support program operations.
  • Provide educational resources and program expertise to internal and external stakeholders, including student groups.

Applied Research & Disaster Management Product Development

  • Collaborate on a writing team to research, analyze, and integrate disaster management data to produce accurate publications aligned to client style and content requirements, including international civil-military coordination contexts.
  • Research, analyze, and integrate open-source information for Indo-Pacific countries to develop content for Disaster Management Reference Country Handbooks.

Quality Control, Editing & Production Support

  • Proofread, revise, and edit research papers for logical flow, clarity, completeness, grammar, punctuation, and content quality.
  • Support quality control by ensuring documents meet client-specific style and content requirements.
  • Liaise with subject matter experts (SMEs) and confirm internal and client comments are incorporated and resolved.
  • Coordinate with graphics/design staff to ensure drafts meet final web and print production standards.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Master's degree.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain and a Secret security clearance.
  • 2+ years of experience analyzing and synthesizing information, including writing and editing disaster management-related products.
  • Strong writing and editing skills; ability to understand and accurately communicate DMHA content in Standard U.S. English.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professional communications with diverse stakeholders; ability to adapt to shifting deliverables and timelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple concurrent tasks, manage deadlines, and maintain strong time management discipline.
  • Strong Microsoft Word skills, including formatting, editing, and publishing technical reports, planning documents, and/or fact sheets.
  • Experience with public speaking, presentations, and facilitating groups.
  • Ability to take direction while working independently with high autonomy; collaborative approach and respect for diverse perspectives.

Preferred:

  • An active Secret security clearance.
  • Experience producing products that promote civil-military coordination during humanitarian assistance and disaster response missions and training.
  • Relevant military occupational specialties/backgrounds such as Army 42A, USMC 0111, Navy YN/PS, or Air Force 3F5X1.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $93,200 to $155,400.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
