This employee assists in all aspects of the student admission and record maintenance process. This employee assists in evaluations of academic transcripts, test scores, and other credentials. Prepares, verifies, and enters data into computerized student information systems. This employee manages student university records by performing clerical activities to maintain student files.

The Undergraduate Admissions Evaluator will work with the Undergraduate Admissions team to process applications received for the current admissions cycle and help maintain student records. This employee will correspond with campus partners including students, parents, other on campus departments, etc. to answer questions relating to

admission policy, submission and processing of related documentation, and connect students to on campus resources. This position does not include active recruitment of potential applicants.

Responsibilities

  1. Assist in evaluating undergraduate applications for all University of Utah campuses.

  2. Respond to emails related to undergraduate admissions.

  3. Provide customer service support at our office windows and via phone calls as it relates to undergraduate admissions.

  4. Process credentials related to admissions.

  5. Monitors students' academic files to ensure information is complete and updated by filling in information and changing records when applicable.

  6. Manages daily work responsibilities and recommends changes to supervisor to improve processes.

  7. May be cross-trained in other areas and assigned to assist with other special projects.

  8. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Three years of general office experience or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience), one of which in an academic setting; and demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills required. College coursework in a related area is preferred.

Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.

Type Benefited Staff Special Instructions Summary

This position is not a remote position. Employee would be expected to work in the office. After 90 days of employment, however, hybrid remote opportunities may be available.
