Overview:
The Academic Program Administrator position will support a Research Coordinator Network funded through the National Science Foundation to better understand water security and health of private well users in the Gulf Coast region.
The objectives of the network are (1) The creation of a strong, coherent, and visible community of scientists, students, and professionals from diverse agencies (academia, industry, non-profit, government), (2) Generation of new and interdisciplinary knowledge about the existing and future health burden experienced by private well users, and (3) Strengthening of cross-cutting partner relationships that will sustain this research and education avenue.
Responsibilities:
- Gather, develop, and share project information, action plans, and deliverables with internal and external project stakeholders.
- Design, coordinate, and distribute a monthly newsletter and additional reminders as needed.
- Manage website content.
- Compile data for project annual report.
- Monitor project progress and provide management support to the project lead.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Coursework in geoscience, environmental science, or natural resource management field is strongly preferred.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient in written and spoken English.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred:
Experience with stakeholder engagement and science communication
An understanding of private well stewardship
Working knowledge of the grant funding landscape in science
