    About this Position

    The Academic Success Learning Specialist (GME) provides structured, proactive academic support to residents and fellows across OSU and OMECO Graduate Medical Education programs. This role partners closely with the Designated Institutional Official (DIO), residency program leadership, faculty coaches, and wellness resources to support learner progression, identify academic risk early, coordinate individualized learning plans, and promote successful completion of training in alignment with ACGME requirements.

    The Academic Success Learning Specialist is a non‑disciplinary, learner‑focused role designed to enhance academic performance, professional development, and retention while supporting programs in meeting accreditation standards.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor''s
    • Education, Higher Education, Counseling, Psychology, Public Health, or related field

    (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)

    Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:

    • Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning principles.
    • Strong interpersonal, coaching, and communication skills.
    • Ability to work with sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
    • Strong organizational and documentation skills.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Master''s degree
    • Experience working in medical education, graduate education, academic advising, or learner support.
    • Experience working with residents and fellows or within a GME or health professions education environment.
    • Familiarity with ACGME Common Program Requirements.
    • Experience supporting remediation, coaching, or academic success initiatives.
    • Training or experience in coaching, advising, or learner development.
    • Experience working in complex, matrixed academic environments.
