Job Summary and Qualifications The Academic Support and Learning Systems Coordinator provides day-to-day support for student learning, faculty, and the college's learning management system. This position coordinates the college's tutoring program and serves as the primary point of contact for routine Canvas support and faculty onboarding. The coordinator manages tutoring logistics , connects students with appropriate academic support, assists faculty with common Canvas needs, coordinates course preparation each academic term, and helps new and adjunct faculty navigate the systems, resources, and processes needed to begin teaching. This position requires someone who is organized, responsive, comfortable with technology, and able to work independently while supporting students and faculty with varying needs and levels of technical experience. Tutoring and Student Learning Support Coordinate the college's tutoring program and day-to-day tutoring operations. Coordinate tutor recruitment, selection , onboarding, scheduling, and assignments in collaboration with appropriate faculty and college leadership. Serve as the primary point of contact for students seeking tutoring and assist students in connecting with appropriate tutoring resources. Communicate tutoring availability, processes, expectations, and resources to students and faculty. Maintain tutoring schedules and coordinate changes throughout the academic term. Track tutoring participation and utilization and maintain appropriate program records. Identify unmet tutoring needs and communicate those needs to appropriate faculty or leadership. Support tutors with scheduling, resources, processes, and routine questions. Develop and maintain tutoring procedures, instructions, forms, and other resources. Identify opportunities to improve student access to tutoring and the effectiveness of tutoring operations. Learning Management System Support Serve as the first point of contact for routine Canvas questions and day-to-day faculty support. Manage common Canvas needs and resolve routine issues independently. Coordinate the setup, preparation, and rollover of Canvas courses for each academic term. Review courses for broken links, outdated dates, missing files, unavailable content, and other common issues. Confirm that course navigation, links, files, and external resources are functioning appropriately before the beginning of each term. Assist faculty with basic course setup, organization, navigation, and troubleshooting. Develop and maintain Canvas instructions, checklists, templates, and other faculty resources. Communicate Canvas deadlines, updates, and recommended practices to faculty. Maintain consistent processes for routine Canvas course preparation and review. Identify recurring issues and recommend improvements to Canvas support processes. Faculty Onboarding and Support Coordinate the operational onboarding of new and adjunct faculty. Provide new faculty with information and resources related to Canvas, college technology, academic processes, and other resources needed to begin teaching. Assist faculty in accessing and navigating systems and resources used in their teaching responsibilities. Track completion of assigned onboarding activities and follow up on outstanding items. Serve as a resource for routine faculty questions related to Canvas and established academic support processes. Maintain current faculty onboarding materials, instructions, and resources. Coordinate with other college departments to ensure faculty receive appropriate information and system access. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree. Experience providing academic, administrative, technology, student, faculty, or customer support. Strong computer skills and demonstrated ability to learn new systems and technology. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to coordinate multiple activities and priorities while meeting deadlines. Ability to work independently, use sound judgment, and identify when issues should be escalated. Strong written and verbal communication skills . Ability to work effectively with students and faculty with varying levels of experience and technical ability. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a college, university, school, or other educational environment. Experience using Canvas or another learning management system. Experience coordinating tutoring, academic support, or student learning services. Experience supporting faculty or academic departments.
