Position Announcement: Academic Technology Coordinator

Northeastern Junior College is seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to serve as the Northeastern Junior College Academic Technology Coordinator. Responsibilities will include assisting faculty with instructional technology use and providing day-to-day support to faculty and staff in the operation and use of instructional technology systems. This role ensures reliable, secure, and effective technology services across instructional and administrative environments. The Academic Technology Coordinator provides Information Technology (IT) support including but not limited to academic classroom technology and software, Mac hardware and Apple iPads, mobile device management, and vendor procurement and relations.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be:

Learning Management System Administration & Support

  • Develop and maintain materials in the Learning Management System for all NJC class offerings, including in-person courses, hybrid courses, online courses, Rural College Consortium courses, and Colorado Online courses.
  • Maintain and test the LMS environment.
  • Test LMS functionality and compatibility with other technologies and course materials.
  • Provide LMS course development support for faculty, such as basic tool usage, document uploads, and appropriate course settings.
  • Support educational technology integrations connected to the LMS, including WebEx, YuJa, and book publisher tools.
  • Escalate instructional or unresolved LMS issues to the appropriate technology vendor contact.
  • Manage LMS-related purchase orders, invoices, and contacts.

Faculty, Staff, and Student Training & Technical Support

  • Provide training and support for faculty, staff, and students in the use of:
    • LMS tools
    • OneDrive
    • Office 365
    • Remote teaching technologies
    • Classroom technology tools
  • Monitor and assist with incoming help tickets from:
    • NJC IT help desk
    • Colorado Online help desk
  • Provide day-to-day technical support as part of the IT Help Desk.
  • Assist faculty, staff, and students with academic technology troubleshooting.

Instructional Technology Innovation & Course Enhancement

  • Develop external resources for LMS training and implementation.
  • Assess overall course curriculum technology needs.
  • Facilitate assistance to faculty in applying new and innovative classroom technologies.
  • Support technology-enhanced learning and instructional course delivery.

Mobile Device Management & Apple/iPad Program Administration

  • Manage the Mobile Device Management system (Jamf).
  • Manage all NJC-owned iPads.
  • Provide support for Apple Mac hardware, iPads, and related mobile device integration.

Digital Course Materials, Publisher Integrations & Licensing

  • Negotiate and manage contracts with digital book publishers.
  • Coordinate technology assets for course materials.
  • Manage course fees.
  • Manage digital integrations for the LMS.
  • Work with outside vendors to solve educational technology-related issues.
  • Coordinate with publishers and technology vendors for course materials and LMS integrations.

Student Course Evaluations & Reporting

  • Manage student course evaluations.
  • Develop links to each course for each evaluation period.
  • Support data collection and reporting for the LMS and related systems.

Committee, Policy, and System-Level Coordination

  • Serve as NJC's primary contact for the Learning Technology Committee.
  • Stay knowledgeable about policies, laws, and issues affecting academic technology.
  • Communicate LMS changes affecting faculty/student to stakeholders.

IT Infrastructure, Security Systems & General Technical Support

  • Provide IT support related to:
    • Academic classroom technology
    • Software
    • Mac hardware
    • Apple iPads
    • Mobile device management
  • Assist Information Technology with:
    • Security camera systems
    • Access control systems
    • Large technology projects
    • Day-to-day technical support
  • Support classroom and instructional technology systems across campus.

What You Will Need:

  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse groups including faculty, administrators, technical teams, and external agencies.
  • Strong documentation and report writing skills
  • Procurement knowledge and vendor relation skills.
  • Proven problem solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage LMS and IT tasks simultaneously.

What We Require:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or a closely related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in:
    • Enterprise networks (LAN/WAN, Wi Fi 6E/7, Cisco Catalyst, Cisco Meraki).
    • Learning Management Systems (D2L, Canvas, Blackboard, etc.)
    • Identity, access, and security management (Active Directory, Entra ID, Touchnet Information Systems OneCard).
    • Cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, M365, Intune, Defender, Exchange Online, Jamf)
    • Endpoint management (Intune, Autopilot, and UEM best practices)
    • Help desk and IT service management (ITIL practices preferred)

What We Can Offer:

This is a full-time professional appointment. Annual salary is $50,000-$54,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
