    Job Title: Academic Tutor

    Location: Enfield Public Schools

    Position Type: Part-Time / Hourly

    Reports To: Building Principal or Designee

    Position Summary:

    Enfield Public Schools is seeking dedicated and compassionate Academic Tutors to support students in achieving academic success. Tutors will provide instructional support in various subject areas, assist with homework and skill development, and help maintain a safe and productive learning environment through student supervision.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide one-on-one and small group academic support in core subjects (e.g., Math, English Language Arts, Science, Social Studies).
    • Assist students with homework, test preparation, and study skills.
    • Monitor and supervise students during tutoring sessions to ensure a safe and respectful environment.
    • Collaborate with teachers and staff to identify student needs and tailor support accordingly.
    • Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.
    • Encourage student engagement, motivation, and confidence in learning.
    • Uphold school policies and procedures during tutoring and supervision activities.

    Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or degree preferred.
    • Experience working with children or adolescents in an educational setting.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Patience, reliability, and a genuine interest in helping students succeed.

    Working Conditions:

    • Flexible scheduling based on school needs.
    • Work may occur during school hours, after school, or during extended learning programs.
    • May involve standing, walking, and light lifting.
