Overview The College is seeking a pool of applicants for hourly Academic Tutor positions for the English Department Writing Center.Assignments could be a Lincroft main campus and/or College's Higher Education Centers. Responsibilities Responsible to tutor individuals/small groups of students in fundamental and advanced areas of writing, including essays and research papers. Responsible for supporting classroom instruction, administering/evaluation of placement essays, ordering materials, maintaining records, and supervising use of materials and facilities. Must have the ability to analyze individual student writing needs, development learning objectives to meet those needs, and monitor student progress. Other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Edcuation: Bachelor's degree in English or closely related field is required. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Must have knowledge of word processing. Requires an in-depth knowledge of the process approach to writing instruction, as well as excellent grammar and interpersonal/communication skills. Must have the ability to work with students with special needs and students for whom English is a second language.
