Access Control Technician

Our client is a long-established Texas contractor with a dedicated technology division supporting large commercial construction projects throughout the state. Their teams install the communications infrastructure that powers office buildings, healthcare facilities, educational campuses, Datacenters and other commercial environments.

Your role with the company:
Install and secure door contacts, motion sensors, request-to-exit buttons, and other peripheral access control devices.
Assist with the installation and adjustment of electrified door hardware to ensure proper alignment and operation.
Pull cable through conduit, walls, ceilings, and above-grid spaces while maintaining proper bend radius and cable support.
Label cables, devices, and panels according to project standards to support future maintenance and troubleshooting.
Assist with trimming out access control devices and making final low-voltage terminations.
Use basic testing equipment, including multimeters and continuity testers, to verify wiring integrity and device operation.
Inspect completed installations for quality, ensuring all hardware is secure, level, and operating as designed.
Maintain clean and organized wiring within control panels, junction boxes, and equipment enclosures.
Follow manufacturer installation guidelines and company standards for all access control components.
Assist senior technicians with system startup, programming support, and final commissioning activities.

Basic Requirement:
2+ years of commercial access control installation experience
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and device layouts
Familiarity with access control hardware and door security components
Strong attention to detail and pride in producing clean installations
Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.
Ability to adapt to changing project schedules and jobsite requirements
