    This position supports the daily operations of the Library Services Desk while overseeing the library's poster printing service. The employee serves as the primary contact for poster printing, supervises student employees assigned to the service, provides excellent customer service to library patrons, and assists with basic library technology support. This role works closely with colleagues in Access Services to ensure efficient operations and high-quality service.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Library Services Desk Operations

    • Supervise the Library Services Desk during assigned shifts.

    • Assist patrons with circulation, directional, and technology questions.

    • Resolve routine patron concerns and refer complex issues appropriately.

    • Support opening, closing, overdue billing, library-hours scheduling, and other daily desk operations.

    • Poster Printing Program

    • Manage the library's poster printing service, including reviewing submissions, processing payments.

    • Operate and maintain large-format printers.

    • Replace printer supplies and troubleshoot minor printing issues and communicate with patrons regarding orders.

    • Student Employee Supervision:

    • Responsible for the supervision of student employees assigned to poster printing, which includes but is not limited to hiring, training, disciplinary actions, ending the student's assignment, etc.

    • Basic Library Technology Support:

    • Provide first-level assistance with printing, scanning and other basic library technologies.

    • Escalate advanced technical issues to Library IT and assist with technology-related projects as assigned.

    Schedule: The regular schedule for this position is Tuesday-Saturday, 10:30am- 6:30pm with some flexibility based on departmental and service needs.

    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • High school diploma or GED
    • A minimum of two years of customer service experience
    • Knowledge of Microsoft office, including Word and Excel

    Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Bachelor's degree in English, Communication, Business Administration, Education or similar.
    • Experience working within a library.
