General Description
The Accessibility and Instructional Media Technologist serves as the primary contact for faculty and staff to provide assistance in the development and remediation of online course materials that meet College, state and federal accessibility standards; conducts and documents training and support of faculty and staff in the area of online accessibility and adopted campus software and technologies. Oversees the implementation and delivery of the inter-campus web conferencing system. Acts as the coordinator for the Digital Higher Education Consortium of Texas (DigiTex) program. Requirements
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in any field and one (1) year of related work experience or minimum of 60 semester college hours and three (3) years of work related experience. TXDLA, USDLA, or QM Accessibility Certification and strong database skills preferred. This position requires a strong expertise with distance education, including online instruction and course development, state and federal accessibility laws and mandates, strong verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated sensitivity to the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic, and disability backgrounds of student populations. This position requires the ability to facilitate collaborative work across college divisions and departments. A criminal background check is also required.
