POSITION DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Accessibility Coordinator FLSA STATUS: Exempt
DEPARTMENT: Property and Asset Management UNION STATUS: None
REPORTS TO: Director of Property and Asset Management SALARY RANGE: $50,000 - $60,000
POSITION SUMMARY
The Accessibility Coordinator serves as the primary resource in identifying issues related to accessibility at all Jacksonville Housing Authority (JHA) properties, oversees the implementation and management of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 compliance initiatives across JHA assets and addresses fair housing matters initiated by HUD JHA, or other agencies. The role focuses on ensuring that all programs, services, and activities are accessible to individuals with disabilities and compliant with other fair housing requirements. This position works closely with various departments to assess, develop, and enforce policies, procedures, and environments that meet legal accessibility standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Proactively work with JHA’s departments to identify actual or potential compliance issues at existing JHA properties.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Disability Studies, Human Resources, Public Administration, Business Administration, etc.). At least 5 years of experience in accessibility management, ADA compliance, or related field. Experience in Section 504 compliance or similar federal regulations is strongly preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Other: Must be insurable by JHA’s insurance and possess a valid driver’s license.
