My AmeriCorps - Home Page Accessing Home

Accessing Home provides partner agencies in Rhode Island with an opportunity to build organizational capacity and technical expertise around affordable housing asset management and residential services systems. Members will develop knowledgeable and responsible clients who have the tools to maintain and/or acquire housing. By targeting clients at risk, who are either in housing or not yet entered housing, Members can help to minimize legal and eviction costs, reduce operating costs, increase collections, and reduce vacancy rates. Member Duties : Provide eviction prevention services to tenants who receive late notices - Coordinate community events, such as resource fairs, to generate positive rapport between the property owner and residents. Make residents aware of available community resources and programming - Direct residents towards available housing and health resources - Become certified as a Resident Service Coordinator Program Benefits : Health Coverage , Training , Childcare assistance if eligible , Stipend , Choice of Education Award or End of Service Stipend , Education award upon successful completion of service .
