Long-Lewis Auto Group is seeking a dependable and motivated AccessoryInventory Specialist/Technician Assistant to join our Service Department. In this role, you'll play an important part in keeping both our parts inventory and service operations running efficiently. You'll be responsible for managing incoming parts, maintaining inventory accuracy, assisting technicians with repairs and installations, and helping ensure our shop remains clean, organized, and safe.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys staying organized, working in a hands-on environment, and is eager to learn more about the automotive industry while supporting an experienced team.
Responsibilities
Maintain accurate parts inventory by monitoring stock levels and assisting with timely replenishment.
Receive and check in incoming parts shipments, verifying accuracy and quality before stocking inventory or staging parts for technicians.
Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance of the parts room and service shop.
Collaborate with service advisors and technicians to locate and deliver parts needed for vehicle repairs and maintenance.
Conduct regular inventory counts and assist with identifying inventory discrepancies and obsolete parts.
Assist customers with parts inquiries, recommend appropriate parts and accessories, and process transactions accurately.
Deliver parts to technicians throughout the service department to help maintain an efficient workflow.
Assist senior technicians with vehicle repairs, equipment installations, and other shop projects under supervision.
Perform basic automotive maintenance and service tasks under the guidance of experienced technicians.
Follow all safety procedures and help maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn.
Perform other duties as assigned to support the Parts and Service Departments.
Qualifications
Previous experience in automotive parts inventory, parts sales, or a dealership environment preferred.
Basic automotive knowledge or mechanical aptitude preferred.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
Reliable, motivated, and eager to learn.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Ability to lift and move automotive parts and supplies as needed.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Compensation
$15.00-$16.00 per hour, depending on experience.
