Account Clerk II (Part-Time)
Pay: $17.67 per hour
Schedule: 15 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–12:00 PM
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Account Clerk II to provide administrative and clerical support in a fast-paced office environment. This part-time position is responsible for maintaining records, assisting with personnel and payroll-related processes, coordinating interview activities, and providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate is dependable, accurate, and comfortable working with computerized financial and human resources systems.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain paper and electronic files by sorting, indexing, filing, and organizing records.
- Assist with processing approved personnel, payroll, time, and leave transactions using the City's financial and human resources software systems.
- Support the requisition process for advertising vacant positions.
- Assist with new hire processing and onboarding documentation.
- Create interview packets and schedule interviews for hiring managers.
- Perform data entry with a high level of accuracy.
- Answer telephone calls and provide general information, including responding to city building maintenance service requests.
- Perform other related clerical and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous clerical, administrative, accounting, or office support experience preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and data entry.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of general office procedures and recordkeeping practices.
- Ability to accurately process information and maintain organized files.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to learn and use financial and human resources software applications.
