Summary Objective

The purpose of this position is to process third party billings, forms and other documents.

Examples of Duties

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.

  • Reviews forms, third party billings, and other documents to detect errors.

  • Explains billing procedures to the public, contacts the public and mails documents to obtain additional information.

  • Processes medical billings and provides information regarding payment options.

  • Reviews, codes and updates account information.

  • Collects fees and posts to accounts.

  • Processes forms and issues receipts and documents.

  • Calculates figures and totals and maintains records and files.

  • Performs related work.

Minimum Requirements

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or the equivalent.

  • Two (2) years of accounting, bookkeeping, banking or billing experience.

EQUIVALENCY

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.

OTHER MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • None.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement.

  • Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.
