Job Description

  • Contact prospective new and existing customers (primarily retail businesses) to sell print and digital advertising.
  • Make sales and service calls on a list of established clients for newspaper and online advertising.
  • Inform customers of upcoming special section advertising opportunities and other advertising -related services available.
  • Act as liaison between customers and production staff by advising clients of advertising deadlines and meeting production deadlines.
  • The successful applicant should be very deadline-oriented.
  • Some collection on overdue advertising balances.
  • Active participation in community events (i.e. Chamber of Commerce), participation in Missourian event marketing opportunities and other personal contacts in order to establish business relationships within the community.
  • Facilitate and mentor students in Advanced Media Sales.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Shift

8-5 Monday - Friday. Occasional nights and weekends as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary: $37,142.28 base + commission
