Position Summary

RT Specialty is a leading wholesale distributor of specialty insurance products and services. Our experienced brokers are specialized in property, casualty, professional lines, transportation and workers' compensation, providing creative solutions to retail brokerage firms. As an independent wholesale broker, we are a critical intermediary in the distribution channel from insurance carriers and retail brokers.

This Account Executive serves as a strategic partner to internal teams by staying informed on market trends and providing actionable insights into client needs and behaviors. Through close collaboration, the individual helps shape client strategies and supports decision-making with relevant market intelligence.

We are seeking a Commercial P&C Account Executive to support a multi-million-dollar book of business focused primarily on national real estate accounts. This is a high-touch environment requiring strong attention to detail, proactive carrier follow-up, and collaboration with Producers and internal teams.

The ideal candidate will be located and report to our Kansas City, MO office (1100 Walnut St. Suite 3200 Kansas City, MO 64106). Relocation and/or remote opportunity available dependent upon experience.

Job Responsibilities

Prepares accounts for new business and renewals as directed by the broker, initiating renewal reviews to optimize client coverage and recommending strategies for client retention.

Assists brokers in developing market submissions and quote cover letters, while reviewing incoming documents for accuracy and completeness.

Builds strong relationships with brokers and demonstrates a solid understanding of brokerage operations to proactively support evolving business needs.

Partners with brokers to drive renewal activity and generate new business opportunities through client referrals.

Collaborates on new business strategies, including the development of proposals and presentations for prospective clients.

Evaluates account-related risks and ensures compliance with industry regulations and internal policies.

Maintains accurate client data in internal systems, produces clear documentation, and adheres to defined guidelines and service standards.

Generates performance and portfolio trend reports using data and insights to support broker decision-making and enhance the book of business.

Coordinates with internal teams to fulfill contractual obligations, resolves invoicing issues with Premium Accounting, and manages notices of cancellation.

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of Commercial Property & Casualty insurance experience • Active P&C license • Proactive, openness to learn, team-based mindset

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (Business, Risk Management, or related field) • Experience working within commercial real estate accounts • ImageRight and Excel proficiency

The target salary range for this position is $56,000.00 - $70,000.00 annually. The wage range for this role considers many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, licensure and certification, business needs, and market demands. The pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Full-time roles are eligible for bonuses and benefits.
