More about the role:

Our Corporate Affairs Practice is seeking to hire an Account Executive to support clients with issues, corporate reputation, public affairs, and external & internal communications support.The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communications skills and will be able to manage multiple projects at one time. If you are looking for an opportunity to work on high-stakes and complex communication issues for exciting clients we’d like to talk to you.

What you'll do:

  • Write media relations materials, including pitch letters, news releases, backgrounders, fact sheets, and bios.
  • Develop media pitches and collaborate with targeted media on story development opportunities.
  • Execute communications programs and provide day-to-day client service support.
  • Assist with research and preparation for new business pitches and integrated communications campaigns.
  • Manage media relations activities, including media list development and maintenance, daily media monitoring, and identification of media opportunities for clients.
  • Research and monitor client businesses, industries, and competitive landscapes to maintain a strong knowledge base.
  • Maintain and regularly update media outlet and reporter databases.
  • Write and distribute pitch letters, news releases, fact sheets, bios, newsletters, prepared remarks, and standby statements.
  • Draft and edit social media content to support corporate communications, reputation management, thought leadership, and stakeholder engagement initiatives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external audiences, including media, third-party stakeholders, and vendors.
  • Prepare monthly activity reports and manage calendars and travel itineraries.

Experience that contributes to success:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of public relations/communications experience in an agency, in-house, ideally with a specific focus on reputation and issues management, or in a political environment.
  • The aptitude to handle high priority and high-pressure situations with poise.
  • An understanding of the current media landscape including national mainstream news media outlets, specialized industry publications, and digital and social media.
  • Proficiency in office computer programs to include MS Office Suite.
  • Strong research, proofreading, writing and editing skills.
  • Experience with media monitoring tools such as MuckRack, NewsWhip and BrandWatch.
  • Professional interpersonal communications skills.
  • Ability to work on a team and handle multiple projects in a simultaneous and collaborative manner.
