Burson is seeking an Account Executive to join our growing Health & Wellness team. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious communications professional who is passionate about storytelling, media relations, healthcare innovation, and building strong client relationships.
As an Account Executive, you will support the development and execution of integrated communications programs for pharmaceutical clients. Working closely with senior team members, you will help manage day-to-day account activities, contribute to strategic communications initiatives, engage with media, and support the delivery of high-impact campaigns that drive meaningful business outcomes.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, intellectually curious, and eager to build a career in healthcare communications within a fast-paced agency environment.
What you'll do:
Support day-to-day account management across multiple pharmaceutical clients.
Assist in developing and executing integrated communications programs, including media relations, thought leadership, executive visibility, corporate communications, and product communications initiatives.
Conduct industry, competitive, stakeholder, and media landscape research to inform client strategy and identify emerging opportunities.
Draft a variety of client deliverables, including media materials, briefing documents, client correspondence, meeting agendas, reports, and presentations.
Build and maintain media lists while supporting proactive media outreach and relationship-building efforts.
Monitor media coverage and industry news, delivering timely insights and recommendations to internal teams and clients.
Participate in client meetings, capture key discussion points, and coordinate follow-up actions.
Support project management efforts, including timelines, status reports, budget tracking, and quality assurance reviews.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including earned media, social, digital, creative, strategy, and analytics specialists to deliver integrated client programs.
Assist with the preparation and submission of materials through Medical, Legal, and Regulatory (MLR) review processes when applicable.
Contribute ideas for client campaigns, new business opportunities, and agency initiatives.
Stay informed about healthcare industry developments, communications trends, and regulatory considerations impacting client businesses.
Experience that contributes to success:
- 1-3 years of public relations, communications, healthcare communications, or account management experience, preferably within an agency environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Health Communications, or a related field preferred.
- Interest in healthcare, pharmaceutical, biotech, wellness, or life sciences communications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to develop clear, compelling content for diverse audiences.
- Experience supporting media relations activities including media monitoring, media list development, and pitching efforts.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Resourceful, proactive, and eager to learn and grow professionally.
- Familiarity with healthcare industry regulations and MLR review processes is a plus.
