About Brighton

Brighton is an iconic accessories brand devoted to creating beautiful products and meaningful experiences for customers. Our collections are designed by talented artisans and sold through Brighton retail stores and a carefully curated network of specialty retailers across the country.
For more than three decades, our success has been built on artistry, craftsmanship, and long-term relationships with the retailers who represent our brand. Our Account Executives play an essential role in this partnership — helping retailers grow their businesses while bringing the Brighton story to life for customers.

information about the position

For someone who loves specialty retail, this is a special opportunity to represent the Brighton brand while building lasting partnerships with some of Southern California’s most beautiful and successful boutiques.
Brighton Collectibles is seeking a relationship-driven Territory Account Executive to represent our brand and partner with specialty retailers across Southern California. This territory spans Santa Monica to Santa Barbara and Pasadena to Santa Clarita, with the ideal candidate based in the North Los Angeles area.

A unique advantage of this territory is that Brighton’s Home Office is located within it, giving the Account Executive exceptional access to company leadership, designers, product resources, and training — making support and collaboration easily accessible as they help their retailers grow their businesses. This is an opportunity for an entrepreneurial sales professional who enjoys building strong partnerships and taking pride in growing a thriving territory.

The Role

Brighton Account Executives are more than sales representatives — they are trusted advisors to the specialty retailers they serve. Through regular store visits, product knowledge, merchandising guidance, and meaningful relationships, our Account Executives help retailers build successful Brighton businesses while bringing the brand to life for their customers.
Our most successful Account Executives are those who enjoy working side by side with retailers—studying their business, training their teams, and helping them build strong sell-through—rather than simply taking orders.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with specialty boutique owners and their sales teams
• Visit stores routinely on a 30-60-90 cycle to review business performance and support retail success
• Provide product knowledge and sales training to store staff
• Assist retailers in selecting assortments that drive strong sell-through
• Support in-store events that engage customers and build excitement around the Brighton brand
• Offer visual merchandising guidance to ensure beautiful product presentation
• Identify and open new high-quality specialty retail accounts within the territory
• Serve as the local ambassador for the Brighton brand

Territory & Travel

This territory includes Santa Monica, Malibu, Santa Barbara, Pasadena, Glendale, and Santa Clarita, with regular travel throughout the region to visit specialty retail partners. The role involves frequent in-store visits, allowing the Account Executive to stay closely connected with retailers, their teams, and the customers who love the Brighton brand.
Some overnight travel is expected depending on where the candidate lives within the territory, typically approximately 3-5 nights per month.

What Makes a Great Brighton Account Executive

The ideal candidate enjoys working closely with independent retailers and takes pride in helping their partners succeed. Successful candidates typically demonstrate:

• A natural ability to build authentic, long-term relationships
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• An appreciation for fashion, accessories, and beautiful product
• A strong sense of organization and personal accountability
• Comfort discussing retail performance and business opportunities
• The ability to work independently while staying closely connected with the Brighton team
• Experience in fashion accessories, apparel, jewelry, or specialty retail sales is preferred

About the Company

B

Brighton Collectibles

This may not be a true fairytale, but it's as close to one as real life gets. Once upon a time, in the late 1960s, there were two high-school sweethearts living in the San Gabriel Valley east of Los Angeles – Jerry Kohl and Terri Kravitz (who is now Terri Kohl). They met, fell in love and started their own specialty store while they were still in high school. Each day when class ended, they opened their store selling T-shirts and leather goods to their classmates. After graduating in 1969, they operated their store full-time.

In the next chapter, as storeowners, they experienced the challenges small stores face, such as getting merchandise delivered on time. Jerry had ideas for improving things. Coincidentally, a couple named Lee and Ginny, vendors of theirs who owned a business that made belts, handbags and sandals out of a warehouse in Redondo Beach, California wanted to phase themselves out of their business. A short two years later, Lee and Ginny decided to sell their company in order to realize their dream of living in New Zealand where the surf was better! So, at age 19, Jerry bought into their company, Leegin, and set out to fill their shoes supplying specialty stores with leather goods (while Lee and Ginny traded their shoes for fins!).
