AZALEA WANG Account Executive - Territory Growth

Azalea Wang is a fast-growing, fashion-forward footwear brand known for bold design and strong retail partnerships. We are seeking a highly driven, results-oriented Account Executive to build, maintain, and aggressively grow our retail presence within assigned territory.

Unlike a traditional management role, this position is for a true builder and hunter. You will have full commercial responsibility for your territory—consistently seeking to grow your pipeline, capture fresh business for the brand, and maximize the potential of your active accounts.

The ideal candidate is passionate, persistent, and highly accountable for results, combining excellent relationship management with a relentless drive to discover new sales opportunities.


The Position:
Account Executive - Territory Growth

Location: HQ - Chicago, IL - (Onsite + 50% Travel)

Key Responsibilities

New Business Development & Pipeline Growth

  • Hunt for Opportunities: Actively prospect, cold-call, and pitch new retail accounts to expand distribution and brand footprint within your territory.

  • Pipeline Management: Consistently build and maintain a robust sales pipeline, turning fresh leads into active, revenue-generating retail partners.

  • Brand Advocacy: Confidently pitch the Azalea Wang vision and bold product lines to secure new shelf space and door counts.

Territory & Account Management

  • Own Your Territory: Drive revenue and margin growth across all assigned retail accounts within your geographic region.

  • Nurture Partnerships: Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing retail partners to ensure consistent re-orders and brand loyalty.

  • Seasonal Sell-In: Lead seasonal presentations, negotiate orders, and guide assortment planning tailored to your territory’s market trends.

  • Tradeshows: Attend Tradeshows across the US to build new business. Bring Energy to our booth and build new relationships

  • Road Work: Relationships build within the account. Know your territory and accounts inside and out.

Performance & Execution

  • Hit Sales Targets: Meet and exceed monthly and quarterly sales quotas and distribution goals.

  • Market Awareness: Stay ahead of regional fashion trends, competitor moves, and retailer needs to identify unique growth angles.

  • Collaborate In-House: Partner with internal design, production, and logistics teams to ensure seamless order fulfillment and account satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 2–4 years of wholesale apparel or footwear sales experience.

  • The Hunter Mindset: A proven track record of building a sales pipeline from scratch and closing new business.

  • Relationship Builder: Ability to connect authentically with independent boutiques, regional chains, and retail buyers.

  • Results-Driven: Highly motivated by hitting targets, growing numbers, and earning bonuses.

  • Organization: Excellent time management and territory planning skills; comfortable balancing prospecting with account maintenance.

  • Passion for Fashion: A strong understanding of current trends and a genuine enthusiasm for the Azalea Wang aesthetic.


Additional Role Expectations

This position is based in Chicago, IL and requires a combination of in-office collaboration and regular travel throughout the assigned territory. Travel is a core part of the role, as building strong relationships with retail partners and expanding new business opportunities in-market is essential to success.

Travel Requirements

  • Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time, including regional and national travel for client meetings, market appointments, and trade shows.

  • Attend trade shows across the U.S. to drive new business, represent the brand with energy, and build lasting retail partnerships.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds, including showroom materials, product samples, and trade show equipment.
