Account Manager

Location: Idaho Falls, ID
Pay: $55,000$85,000 annually (DOE)
POSITION SUMMARY
The Yard Butler is seeking a motivated, relationship-driven Account Manager to join our team. This position is responsible for managing and growing client accounts, maintaining strong customer relationships, identifying additional service opportunities, and working closely with our production teams to ensure we consistently deliver quality service.
The Account Manager serves as the primary point of contact for assigned clients and takes ownership of the overall client relationship. This includes regular property visits, client communication, site audits, sales and proposals, service follow-up, and coordination with operations.
The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, sales-minded, and comfortable building relationships while managing multiple client accounts and priorities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Client & Account Management
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients.Build and maintain strong, professional client relationships through regular communication, meetings, site visits, and follow-up.Understand each client's property, expectations, priorities, and service needs.Respond promptly and professionally to client questions, concerns, and requests.Conduct regular property visits and site audits to evaluate service quality and identify property needs.Monitor client satisfaction and proactively address concerns.Maintain accurate documentation of client communications, property needs, and follow-up items.Represent The Yard Butler professionally during client meetings, property visits, networking opportunities, and company-related events.
Sales & Business Development
Meet or exceed established monthly and annual sales goals.Identify opportunities to expand services with existing clients.Recommend landscaping, irrigation, enhancements, seasonal services, and other solutions based on client and property needs.Generate leads and pursue new client opportunities.Develop new business through referrals, networking, prospecting, and relationship building.Prepare and present proposals, estimates, scopes of work, and service agreements.Follow up consistently on outstanding proposals and sales opportunities.Negotiate pricing, scope, and service terms within established company guidelines.Maintain an active sales pipeline.
Production Coordination
Work closely with operations and production teams to ensure services are completed according to client expectations and company standards.Clearly communicate client expectations, scopes of work, scheduling needs, and property-specific information.Coordinate with production leadership regarding service concerns, quality issues, and additional work.Follow up on outstanding client requests and commitments.Assist with resolving service-related concerns.Maintain effective communication between clients, office staff, and field operations.
Financial & Account Performance
Monitor the overall performance and profitability of assigned accounts.Understand contracted pricing, services, and additional work associated with assigned clients.Assist in ensuring completed services and additional work are properly documented for billing.Assist with outstanding client balances when needed.Provide updates regarding account activity, sales performance, client retention, and opportunities.Identify opportunities to improve account profitability while maintaining service quality and customer satisfaction.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience in account management, sales, customer service, landscaping, construction, property services, or a related field.Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong sales and customer service abilities.Strong organizational and time-management skills.Ability to manage multiple accounts, priorities, and deadlines.Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.Ability to work effectively with both clients and production teams.Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn company software.Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.Ability to travel throughout the local service area to client properties and job sites.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree in business administration, Marketing, Horticulture, Landscape Management, Construction Management, or a related field.Previous account management or sales experience in landscaping, construction, property management, facilities management, or another service-based industry.Knowledge of landscaping, irrigation, enhancements, snow removal, construction, or property maintenance.Experience preparing estimates, proposals, scopes of work, and service agreements.Experience of working toward established sales goals.
