Overview
The Account Manager serves as the day-to-day operational owner for a portfolio of janitorial accounts. The successful candidate builds trust with clients, sets clear expectations for supervisors and cleaning teams, responds quickly to service issues, and uses inspections and performance data to drive continuous improvement. The role requires strong organization, sound judgment, and the ability to move comfortably between office, client, and job-site environments.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Own day-to-day relationships with assigned clients; conduct regular check-ins, site visits, and service reviews.
Translate contract requirements and client expectations into clear work plans, schedules, cleaning standards, and team assignments.
Recruit, onboard, train, coach, and retain supervisors and frontline janitorial team members in partnership with operations leadership.
Monitor staffing, attendance, timekeeping, supplies, equipment, and coverage to maintain uninterrupted service.
Perform routine quality inspections; document findings, communicate corrective actions, and verify completion.
Investigate and resolve complaints, missed tasks, safety concerns, and service disruptions with urgency and professionalism.
Prepare account updates, inspection reports, supply forecasts, labor updates, and other operational documentation.
Support budgeting, labor planning, and account profitability by controlling overtime, consumables, rework, and avoidable service costs.
Ensure work is performed in accordance with company policies, client site rules, OSHA requirements, and applicable health and safety standards.
Identify opportunities to improve service quality, strengthen retention, and expand the relationship through additional services.
Qualifications
Qualifications
Two or more years of experience in janitorial, facilities, hospitality, building services, or a related operations environment.
Experience supervising employees, coordinating multiple work sites, or managing customer-facing service delivery.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to set expectations and hold teams accountable respectfully.
Comfort using email, mobile apps, spreadsheets, scheduling tools, and digital inspection or work-order systems.
Ability to organize competing priorities, meet deadlines, and remain composed in a fast-paced service environment.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation if travel between client sites is required.
Ability to pass any legally permitted background, drug, or site-access screening required by the company or client.
Physical Requirements
This position requires frequent walking, standing, bending, reaching, climbing stairs, and moving through active commercial or industrial facilities. The Account Manager may occasionally lift or move supplies or equipment up to 50 pounds and may work around cleaning chemicals, wet floors, noise, and varying temperatures.
