As an Account Supervisor, Earned Media at Zeno, you will help lead earned media programs for major consumer brands and organizations. Working closely with clients and integrated account teams, you will identify story opportunities, shape narratives, build media relationships and secure coverage that supports business and reputation goals.
This role is ideal for a communications professional who genuinely enjoys media relations and understands what makes a story worth covering. You'll have the opportunity to counsel clients, lead media workstreams, mentor junior team members and help teams think more strategically about how brands earn attention in an evolving media landscape.
About the Role:
Earned Media Strategy & Storytelling:Develop earned media strategies that connect client priorities with relevant news, consumer trends and cultural conversations. Translate business priorities, research and timely developments into compelling story opportunities.
Media Relations & Coverage Generation:Lead proactive and reactive outreach across consumer, national, broadcast, digital, local and emerging media, developing pitches and securing meaningful coverage.
Media Relationships & Intelligence:Build relationships with reporters, editors, producers and emerging media voices while monitoring the news cycle to identifytimely opportunities and evolving areas of interest.
Client Management & Strategic Guidance:Serve as a trusted day-to-day client contact, providing recommendations, navigating media opportunities and bringing sound judgment to evolving communications needs.
Innovation & Emerging Tools:Explore AI, data and emerging technologies that can strengthen research, media intelligence and story development while applying thoughtful judgment to how these tools are used.
Team Leadership & Collaboration:Mentor junior team members and partner across account, strategy, creative and specialty teams to bring earned media thinking into integrated communications programs.
Business Growth & Agency Development:Contribute earned media expertise to new business, organic growth opportunities and agency initiatives that help strengthen Zeno's capabilities.
About You:
5+ years of experience in earned media, media relations, public relations or consumer communications within an agency or in-house communications team.
Proven success securing earned coverage across consumer, national, broadcast, digital and local media, as well as emerging platforms and voices.
Experience building and maintaining relationships with journalists, editors, producers and other media contacts.
Strong news judgment with the ability to identify compelling stories and understand what will resonate with media audiences.
Experience developing media strategies, pitches, story angles and executive positioning.
Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills.
Experience managing day-to-day client relationships and presenting strategic recommendations.
Strong organizational skills with experience managing multiple priorities and workstreams.
Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members.
Collaborative mindset with the ability to partner effectively across integrated teams.
Curiosity about culture, news and the evolving media landscape.
Interest in how AI, search and emerging technologies are changing how audiences discover and engage with information.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience developing executive visibility or thought leadership programs.
Experience supporting integrated communications campaigns across earned, social, creator or digital channels.
Experience across client categories.
Pay Range: $75,000 - $95,000 USD/yr.
