Accountant 2 (Parks, Recreation & Open Spaces)

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Accounting and one year of accounting experience; OR Bachelors degree to include 9 semester credits in Accounting and one year of accounting experience; OR one year of satisfactory performance as an Accountant 1 in the County service is required; OR five years of Accounting experience may substitute for the required four years of college education.

Recruitment Notes

Performs accounting duties involving the application of established accounting principles and methods in the preparation, review, analysis, and reconciliation of financial records. Responsibilities include preparing, reviewing, and posting journal entries, reconciling large volumes of financial data, analyzing financial information to identify discrepancies and trends, and assisting with month-end and year-end closing activities. Maintains financial documentation to support audits and reporting and utilizes Microsoft Excel and various accounting systems and tools in performing assigned functions. Provides support and collaboration on various accounting activities, including capital accounting and budgeting, and assists with other assignments as needed.
