Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Accounting and one year of accounting experience; OR Bachelors degree to include 9 semester credits in Accounting and one year of accounting experience; OR one year of satisfactory performance as an Accountant 1 in the County service is required; OR five years of Accounting experience may substitute for the required four years of college education.

Recruitment Notes

This is advanced professional accounting work in the application of established accounting principles and methods in the preparation, maintenance, analysis, and control of financial records. Employees in this class are responsible to properly review, analyze, and reconcile accounting transactions, as well as assist with processing adjustments for PROS General, Trust and Special Funds. The employees in this class perform various tasks such as the approval of purchase orders, review of PROS divisions daily expenses to ensure budget alignment, preparation of financial reports, County's Purchasing Card program and petty cash reconciliation, administration and reconciliation of grants awarded to the Department, Inter Departmental billing, compliance with the County's Purchasing Card program and Petty cash, provide substantive support and collaboration with end of fiscal month closing activities and assist with other assignments as needed. The work location for this position is the Hickman Building, 275 NW 2nd Street Miami, FL 33128.
