Mission StatementThe Louisiana Sales and Use Tax Commission for Remote Sellers was created by Act 274 of the 2017 Regular Legislative Session. The Commission is charged with the administration and collection of sales and use tax with respect to remote sellers. We promote uniformity and simplicity in compliance, and we adhere to the Code of Government Ethics while providing leadership and professionalism in our duties to those we represent and serve.OverviewThe accountant 3 position is a senior accounting role responsible for advanced financial analysis, reconciliations, and reporting to support accurate sales and use tax collection for remote sellers.Key CompetenciesAnalytical skills, strong knowledge of accounting, attention to detail, proficiency with financial systems, and the ability to manage complex data and deadlines.What Makes It UniqueThis role supports a growing, high-impact area of tax administration and offers the opportunity to help shape the financial functions of the organization.QualificationsEligibility and experience requirements include:Five years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; ORSix years of full-time experience in any field plus twenty-four semester hours in accounting plus two years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; ORA bachelor's degree with twenty-four semester hours in accounting plus two years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; ORA bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, economics, or statistics plus two years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; ORAn advanced degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, economics, quantitative methods, or statistics plus one year of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; ORPossession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.Experience substitution: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field.
