Job Details Job Location: Stockton, CA 95203Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $30.00 - $37.00 HourlyJob Shift: DayPOSITION SUMMARY Under the guidance of the Controller, The Accountant will provide expert financial guidance and strategic support to Dameron Hospital's accounting team. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in healthcare accounting, a deep understanding of healthcare financial regulations, and the ability to advise on best practices in accounting and financial reporting. This consultant will work closely with the finance department to improve processes, ensure compliance, and help optimize financial performance. This is a non-union position.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Financial Reporting & Analysis: Assist with the preparation, review, and analysis of financial statements and reports, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and healthcare-specific regulations.Budgeting & Forecasting: Support the development and management of annual budgets and forecasts. Provide insight into financial trends, variances, and recommendations for cost control and revenue enhancement.Revenue Cycle Management: Review and advise on the hospital's revenue cycle, including billing, coding, collections, and reimbursement processes. Ensure alignment with payer contracts and regulatory requirements.Internal Controls & Compliance: Assess and enhance the hospital's internal control systems to ensure the safeguarding of assets and the integrity of financial reporting. Ensure compliance with all healthcare-related financial regulations, including Medicare, Medi-Cal, and other payer requirements.Audit Support: Assist in preparing for and supporting both internal and external audits. Work with auditors to ensure timely and accurate completion of audits and address any identified issues or concerns.Cost Accounting: Support the analysis of cost structures and assist with the allocation of costs across various departments and service lines. Provide insights into improving cost efficiency and profitability.Financial Strategy & Decision Support: Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to support hospital leadership in making informed strategic decisions. Advise on financial performance, investment opportunities, and resource allocation.Training & Support: Offer guidance and training to the hospital's finance team on healthcare accounting best practices, new regulations, and software tools.Skills: Proficient in accounting software and Excel.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.Knowledge of cost accounting, revenue cycle management, and internal control frameworks.Experience with auditing processes and financial reporting.NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Willingly performs other duties as assigned or requested.FTE 1.0 - 8 hours, Days - Temporary – 90 days from the start date, unless Dameron Hospital agrees to an extension in writing.QUALIFICATIONS Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting required.Experience:Minimum of five years of hands‑on operational accounting preferred.Must have exceptional organizational skills, be well‑versed in spreadsheet software and database applications, and have the aptitude and desire to investigate and resolve both accounting and system‑related quandaries.Must have the ability to detect and avoid errors.
