Title: Accountant/Analyst\n \nEmployee Classification: PT\n \nPay Grade: PE 08\n \nDivision: Business and Finance\n \nSubdivision: Controller\n \nDepartment: Business and Finance\n \nCampus Location: Main Campus\n \nGeneral Summary\n \nThis position is responsible for the development and analysis of financial reports, accounting activities and fixed asset related functions. This position will also provide expertise in forwarding the continuous improvement of the Financial Services Operation.\n \nPrincipal Duties and Responsibilities\n\n Responsible for assembling various financial reports.\n Evaluate and document current and desired business processes.\n Responsible for the analysis of all fund activity.\n Monitor the input, changes to, and maintenance of all automated accounting systems.\n Evaluate present accounting and operational systems and recommend changes.\n Perform year-end closing and preparation of audit schedules.\n Perform various reconciliations from 3rd parties to Banner Provide Banner functional assistance for University employees.\n Assist with the ongoing review, maintenance, and revision of department policy and procedure manuals.\n* Perform related Departmental duties as required.\n \nMinimum Qualifications:\n \nBachelors in Accounting, Accounting Information Systems, Finance or other related field is required.\n \nKnowledge of accounting principles and procedures (GAAP).\n \nFour years experience in professional accounting is necessary.\n \nPreferred Qualifications:\n \nDemonstrated experience in Microsoft Excel is necessary Experience in Microsoft Access and/or Crystal is desirable Knowledge of GASB principles is desired.\n \nKnowledge of Ellucian Banner system is a plus.\n \nSpecial Instructions:\n \nN/A\n \nAppointment Percentage:\n \n100%\n\n
