Pay Range: USD $43,600.00 - USD $77,250.00 /Yr. Overview:
Auburn University’s College of Education is excited to begin the search for an Accountant to join our team. This role will serve as the liaison with Central Business and Finance and will oversee daily fiscal and purchasing operations across multiple funding sources. The position requires comprehensive knowledge of fiscal policies and procedures related to vendor payments, travel reimbursements, journal entries, and other financial transactions.

Responsibilities:
  • Reviews and/or prepares expense vouchers, invoices, purchase requisitions, or other transactions for one or more departments, in compliance within designated limits, policies, or contracts.
  • Prepares monthly reconciliations, budget reports, other specialized reports, and/or analysis on a regular or ad hoc basis.
  • Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors in financial entries, documents, and reports.
  • Determines proper handling of financial transactions in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and approves within designated limits, policies, or contracts.
  • Corresponds with Procurement and Business Services, Contracts & Grants Accounting, Budget Services, or other departments concerning accounting and financial information.
  • May perform duties related to payroll, personnel actions, or similar procedures.
Qualifications:
Level I: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a degree plus a CPA

Level II: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a degree plus a CPA and 2 years of experience in accounting services

Level III: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a degree plus a CPA and 4 years of experience
 

CPA is required if degree is not within Accounting or Finance.



Substitution allowed for Experience: Graduate degrees accepted in lieu of experience requirement for advanced levels, at a rate of one (1) year relevant education per year of required experience. (Example: 2 years of education = 2 years of experience)
