Accountant

Location Butler PACleveland-Cliffs Steel has an immediate opening for an Accountant at our Butler location. The position is responsible for the overall preparation and analysis of financial records and for communicating with management and manufacturing personnel for decision-making purposes.Summary of ResponsibilitiesSupport the monthly close process including inventory and cost-related activitiesReconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variancesAnalyze financial results identify variances and assist in root-cause analysisAssist in the preparation of plant forecasts and budgetsSupport internal controls and compliance requirements including SOXAssist with internal and external audit requestsPerform salesuse and other tax-related accounting activitiesIdentify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracyOther duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsBachelors degree in accounting or finance.Knowledge of GAAP and basic accounting processes close reconciliationsAnalytical ability detailed orientation and commitment to accuracy.Position is based at Butler Works general office however may require time in a plant environmentPreferred QualificationsExperience in a manufacturing environment.Microsoft Excel competence.Experience with ERP systemsCleveland-Cliffs Inc. is the largest flat-rolled steel company and the largest iron ore pellet producer in North America.
