Francis Marion University invites applications for an Accountant/Cashier who, under limited direction, Coordinates the collection and deposit of all University receipts. Responsible for the appropriate recording of all receipt transactions in both the on-line and batch systems, and all related records. Assists with multi-accounting functions. Performs related duties.

Other duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinates Vehicle Registrations for Students
  • Coordinates Monthly Statements
  • Coordinates Student Deposits
  • Coordinates Daily Reconciliation

State Requirements: A high school diploma and related financial experience. A bachelor's degree with multiple accounting courses may be substituted for the required work experience.

FMU Preferred Requirements: Bachelor's degree, preferred, with nine (9) semester hours in accounting related courses. Considerable knowledge of the principles and theories of accounting. Proficient working knowledge of standard office equipment and Microsoft Office software suite. Strong skills in applying mathematical concepts and cash handling. Experience with Ellucian Colleague software is a plus.

State Classification: Accountant/Fiscal Analyst I (AD20)

Pay Grade: GEN06

Salary: $37,200

Normal Working Hours: 7:45 a.m. - 4:15 p.m. (Monday - Friday). Summer hours will vary.
