About the Opportunity
A well-established professional organization is seeking a detail-oriented
Accountant to support its accounting team during a period of increased activity. This role offers hands-on exposure to accounts receivable, cash management, month-end close activities, and general accounting operations within a collaborative environment.
The ideal candidate is self-sufficient, takes initiative when problem-solving, and thrives in a fast-paced accounting department.
Key Responsibilities
- Process cash receipts, lockbox transactions, and accounts receivable activity
- Perform daily cash and bank reconciliations
- Assist with cash management reporting and account analysis
- Review and maintain accounts receivable records, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies
- Support month-end close activities, including reconciliations and journal entries
- Assist with customer account research and collection efforts
- Partner with internal departments to resolve accounting and payment-related inquiries
- Investigate and troubleshoot accounting system issues as needed
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
Required Qualifications
- 1+ years of accounting or accounts receivable experience
- Experience processing lockboxes, cash applications, cash receipts, and reconciliations
- Experience assisting with journal entries and month-end close
- Strong understanding of accounts receivable processes
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Ability to work independently and think through solutions before escalating issues
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Required Software Experience
- Adaptive Planning (Adaptive Insights) experience is required
- Experience working within ERP/accounting systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Experience with financial reporting and cash management
- Prior experience supporting high-volume transaction environments
