Staff Accountant – General Ledger (Sales & Rental)

We’re seeking a Staff Accountant who is early in their career and eager to build a strong accounting foundation while gaining exposure to complex, real-world business operations.

This is a high-visibility, development-focused role within our General Ledger team, partnering closely with experienced accounting professionals, branch leaders, and corporate partners, gaining hands-on experience that prepares you for long-term growth within our organization. The Ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in GAAP, analytical skills and a collaborative, detail-oriented mindset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and support month-end close
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and research/resolution of variances
  • Support accounting for product, truck, trailer, and rental sales
  • Review, post, and audit sales transactions and rental contracts
  • Record rental revenue and reconcile related inventory and rental accounts
  • Prepare and distribute sales and rental reporting
  • Assist with vendor rebate tracking and administration
  • Support month, quarter, and year-end close activities
  • Participate in sales and expense reviews
  • Assist with financial statements, audits, and internal controls
  • Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and special projects
  • Partner with leadership on process improvements and efficiency initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting (recent graduates encouraged to apply)
  • Foundational understanding of GAAP through coursework or internships
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating in a team environment

Preferred (Not Required)

  • Internship or entry-level experience in accounting or finance
  • Exposure to sales, rental, or inventory-based accounting
  • Basic knowledge of sales and tax use
  • Experience with ERP or accounting systems
