    Description

    Accountant, Full-time, On-site (Fremont, OH):

    About The Job -

    Responsible for ensuring daily bank adherence to accounting and SEC standards for financial reporting; assisting bank personnel in developing processes that ensure company adherence to all financial reporting and controls; and preparing and gathering information used for all financial reporting.

    Essential Job Duties -

    • Responsible for ensuring bank compliance with regulations and accounting standards / pronouncements.
    • Responsible for preparing all year-end financial reports.
    • Assists in preparing budget information.
    • Creates financial reports used by Senior Management and Board of Directors.
    • Creates end-of-month entries (including tax entries).
    • Responsible for developing methods used by the Bank to ensure compliance with regulations and accounting standards and pronouncements.
    • Develops and maintains key controls that ensure compliance with Audit standards.
    • Serves as the key liaison between auditors, accountants and Senior Management.
    • Develops, updates, and produces reports used by CFO and management.
    • Maintains bond accounting software and assists in reconciliation of the bond portfolio.
    • Assists and approves accounts payables and reconciles amounts.
    • Maintains pledge assets for the Bank.
    • Responsible for General Ledger reconciliation and corresponding General Ledger accounts.
    • Acts as backup on the call report.
    • Assists with preparing all SEC financial reports.
    • Complies with and maintains working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control. Completes assigned compliance training essential to job function.
    • Punctual and regular attendance is required.

    Requirements -

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a closely related field
    • 3-5+ years of previous accounting or finance related experience
    • Good computer skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Office software with emphasis on Excel.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
    • Knowledge of federal and state regulatory laws pertaining to financial institutions preferred but not required
