The duties include but are not limited to:
QUALIFICATIONS:
Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work
Must have a Bachelor's degree in accounting or a closely related field from a regionally accredited college or university
Highly proficient using computers, mobile devices, and other technology
Highly proficient using Microsoft Office Suite of applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point)
Highly proficient using office equipment and machines including copiers, printers, and ten-key calculators
Highly proficient skills gathering information and examining records
Highly proficient skills managing, analyzing, and interpreting data
Must be self-motivated and self-disciplined, with ability to work independently with limited supervision
Must be willing to learn job-related tasks and functions primarily through verbal instruction and observation (on-the-job training)
Must be able to initiate and complete tasks from fragmentary instructions
Must be able to read, comprehend, and make inferences from written materials, correspondence, instructions, manuals, policies and procedures, and government regulations
Must be able to compose written documents with clearly organized thought using proper sentence construction, punctuation, and grammar while writing in a clear, straightforward, and professional manner
Must be able to compose correspondence from fragmentary instructions
Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing in a clear, straightforward, and professional manner

Must be able to occasionally drive to site locations within Mobile County (mileage reimbursement provided)
Must be able to occasionally lift, carry, move, and transport file boxes weighing 15 to 40 pounds
Must maintain a high degree of confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism regarding assignments and workplace matters
Must be in attendance and punctual in accordance with assigned work schedule
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
One (1) to three (3) years of auditing experience obtaining and evaluating evidence or
One (1) to three (3) years of general ledger accounting or bookkeeping experience
Working knowledge of accounting, auditing, or bookkeeping practices
Working knowledge of fiscal policies and procedures
Duty Days 260
Salary Range: From/To Beginning pay - $51,214.00

Applicants selected for classified positions must undergo (or have undergone) an ABI/FBI criminal history background check (fingerprinting administered through sites selected and approved by the MCPSS and State of Alabama Education Department) and be declared suitable and fit to teach under state law. Applicants selected must also pass a drug-screening test via forms provided by Human Resources during the selection process.
