About the Position
This is a time limited (NS-14) position. The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) is recruiting for a Non-State Service position as Accountant II within the Office of Finance and Accounting. This position will be responsible for creating purchase orders, analyzing, and interpreting standard accounting data and records. At this level, employees apply professional and technical accounting knowledge to undertake analysis and interpretations of financial information and data in accordance with general and government accounting practices and principles. The duties and responsibilities of this position may require the incumbent at this level to be fluent in applying diverse funding sources to purchase orders and vendor payments; and have experience with accounting, purchasing, grants, MAGIC, etc. Work at this level is moderate in complexity (federal and state fund types, revenue sources, cost centers, and cost allocations). Paid Personal Leave and Sick Leave
