Essential Functions:
- Provides professional accounting support in the maintenance and review of the County's financial records; may provide accounting support for grants.
- Maintains and balances financials in assigned area; writes off balances if appropriate.
- Gathers and prepares financial information for all departments as needed.
- Maintains petty cash funds.
- Process checks
- Distributes/allocates funds if applicable.
- Provides instruction and leadership of accounting staff on assigned accounting projects.
- Receives and responds to inquiries, concerns, and requests for assistance in areas of responsibility.
- May manage customer accounts (such as those for the Sheriff, Treasurer, or for services such as sewer, water and landfill); monitor and collect on delinquent accounts.
- May collect debt setoffs on accounts.
- May process refunds.
- Adheres to business policies to ensure compliance with all relevant labor and tax laws and regulations.
- Performs general clerical work as required, including: attending meetings; preparing reports and correspondence; entering and retrieving computer data; copying and filing documents; sending and receiving faxes; answering the telephone; organize and schedule interviews; ordering supplies and planning events; etc.
- Team leads support the payroll, accounts receivable and/or accounts payable manager in their absence with all of their responsibilities and duties.
- Attends training, meetings, seminars and/or workshops to enhance job knowledge and skills.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Compensation Minimum: $56,697.75
