Description

Job SummaryTalentWise LLC is building a pipeline of qualified accounting professionals to support anticipated government contract awards with Arlington County, VA.

The Accountant II performs professional accounting work of moderate complexity in support of financial operations, reporting, and compliance. This role ensures accurate financial recordkeeping, supports budget and reconciliation activities, and collaborates with stakeholders to maintain efficient and compliant accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reconcile bank accounts and financial records, identifying and resolving discrepancies 
  • Prepare and post journal entries, adjustments, and financial transactions 
  • Monitor budgets, account activity, and financial statements for accuracy and compliance 
  • Process payments, returned checks, and account corrections in accordance with policies 
  • Prepare financial reports and analyze trends or variances 
  • Support accounts receivable and disbursement activities 
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure adherence to accounting standards and regulations 
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve financial issues 
  • Assist with process improvements and implementation of accounting procedures

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field 
  • 1-3 years of professional accounting or auditing experience (public, private, or government) 
  • Working knowledge of general accounting principles, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting 
  • Experience with accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks or similar financial software) 
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
