Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Accountant II to support system accounting activities for a leading healthcare organization. This position is responsible for general ledger month-end close, complex account analysis, reconciliations, and sub-system reconciliations. The ideal candidate will bring strong financial accounting knowledge, analytical skills, and attention to detail while identifying opportunities to improve accounting systems and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Perform general ledger accounting activities and support the monthly financial close process.
- Prepare, review, and analyze complex account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Perform sub-system reconciliations and research and resolve discrepancies as identified.
- Conduct complex account analysis and investigate variances or unusual financial activity.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation in accordance with established procedures.
- Evaluate accounting processes and recommend improvements to accounting systems and procedures.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required.
- Two (2) to six (6) years of accounting work experience required.
- Strong financial accounting knowledge and understanding of general ledger processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to independently manage accounting responsibilities and meet established deadlines in a remote work environment.
